OVERVIEW

The Government of Taiwan has been promoting Rural Revitalization since 2019. This helps to draw people’s attention to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals which were set by the United Nations in the ‘2030 Agenda’. (These goals are also known as “SDGs”).

Businesses are setting SDGs targets for their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies. Corporations have a responsibility to employees, society, and the environment. Their focus should not just be on pursuing profit and shareholder interests.

Corporate mission statements must be socially responsible.
They must include business ethics, production safety and occupational health requirements.
They must focus on labor rights and energy conservation.
